Avery is just 7 weeks old and I am already dreading the return to work. Knowing another mom who is returning to work and will be placing her daughter in daycare got me thinking that I need to start looking into it for my daughter. So, does anyone know of any fantastic infant daycare programs or a very capable loving nanny? Please let me know!

However, "The Secret Garden", a preschool in La Selva Beach, opened a second location last year in Santa Cruz, over by Dominican Hospital.
This second location, "The Secret Garden, Too", is not only a preschool, but also an infant and toddler center as well.
I worked as a teacher there last year after it opened, and it's an excellent, quality, program, which Santa Cruz County really needed.
Their website: http://www.thesecretgardenpreschool.com/SG2%20info.htm
It is pricey, $1260 for full-time.
If you're interested, call for a tour of the site asap, any openings fill up very fast, and I'm pretty sure there's already a waitlist.
Also, Cabrillo College's Children Center, http://www.cabrillo.edu/services/childrenscenter/custom/index.html is also an amazing program that has infant and toddler rooms as well.
This program is equally, if not better than the other, and is also cheaper, $600 for full-time care.
They provide care for infants 12 months and up, but it sounds like you need care sooner than that.
I'd suggest finding a nanny until you can either get her into, or she's old enough for an excellent program.
In terms of finding a great nanny, I strongly recommend the College Boards.
Cabrillo College has one online that is great, and I'd also strongly suggest going into the actual location and posting a flyer on the bulletin board that just the Early Childhood Education students have access to.
The students often check the board before classes.
Annies Nannies and Domestic Staffing is a good nannying agency in the county, but is also pricey.
There are also many websited where you can find nannies as well.
Hope any of that helps!
