Hike for Discovery...FOR FAMILIES!
Hey Mommies,
You've all heard me talk about The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training (TNT), so you know that with TNT you can receive professional coaching to run or walk marathon or half marathon events. But this season, in addition to their great marathon training, TNT is also offering a new hiking event called Hike For Discovery's Local Adventure!
The Local Adventure takes you on 6-7 local training hikes at a variety of spectacular locations in the Santa Cruz and Monterey Bay Areas. At each hike, you'll learn about the history of the area as certified Hike Leaders prepare you for a destination hike in historic Nevada City, CA. This event is open to all ages, YES THAT MEANS FAMILIES! And is a great opportunity for the whole family to enjoy the outdoors, learn about local history and make a difference in the fight against cancer!
The best way to learn more is at an Information Meeting. There are meetings coming up in Aptos, Seaside & Santa Cruz. They're free to attend an generally last about an hour...and there's no obligation to join. So, if enjoying an outdoor adventure with the whole family sounds like fun, I encourage you to attend a Meeting to learn more about the Local Adventure. See below for dates and times:
Saturday, July 19th at 10:00 am - Embassy Suites Seaside, 1441 Canyon del Rey Blvd., Seaside
Tuesday, July 22nd at 6:30 pm - Seacliff Inn, 7500 Old Dominion Ct., Aptos
Saturday, July 26th at 10:00 am - University Inn & Conference Center, 611 Ocean St., Santa Cruz
Marathon teams are also forming now for great walk and run events, including the sold-out Nike Women's Marathon (half distance), the Seattle Marathon (full or half distance), the Honolulu Marathon and the Santa Barbara Half Marathon.
